We have all used or heard one or more of the following terms and phases pertaining to sleep; “beauty sleep”, “cat nap”, “I’m going to grab a little shut-eye.”, “power nap”, “I’m going to turn in for the night.”, “hit the sack”, “catch some zzz’s”….. but no matter how we spin it, one thing remains clear, sleep is something that we all need, and getting a good night’s sleep can be an elusive concept, just ask the princess and the pea. The island has long been a sleep sanctuary for busy, hardworking travellers who just need to let go. That said, one might equate Ibiza with not sleeping at all, due to the nightlife fame our little island has acquired. However, those who know, know better. Life seems to slow down the minute you land on our shores. A leisurely pace sets in and the body just knows it’s time to relax. Sleep comes on it’s own, unforced and natural.
There may be even more to getting a good night’s sleep than simply feeling relaxed, rested and energetic. Sleep expert Matthew Walker argues a link between sleep-deprivation and depression, heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s in his book Why We Sleep. Can lack of sleep really be that dangerous?
At Cas Gasi, we prefer not to take that risk and have put enormous effort into ensuring that all necessary elements for a wonderful night’s sleep are in place for you. Well, maybe “enormous effort” is a slight exaggeration, however, we have joyfully tested the best mattresses and sourced the softest luxury linens. We were even amazed to find out that our feathers gave no allergies to known allergics! Even those who opt for no feathers will feel the same cozy comfort between our sheets.
As testimony, we have been told that sleeping at Cas Gasi is equivalent to “floating on a cloud” or “being wrapped in pure deliciousness”. Throughout the years, many a traveller has discreetly asked for the provenance of our bedding, and we are always delighted to share our beds and our secrets. Sweet dreams!
